Marina di Cala del Sole is located in Licata City, on Sicily’s South Coast, between Agrigento (the Greek city famous for the Valley Of the Temples) and Gela (the first Magna Greek city on the island).
Entering Licata Port, keep to your right (starboard), looking for the green light of the sub-port of Marina di Cala del Sole: just stay in the middle of the entrance to the marina (its 80 meters wide). Stay away from the East Pier and call the Marina Management Office (VHF channel 74) to get directions to your berth.
Today, you have three alternatives:
Catania Fontanarossa Airport, served by Easyjet, Alitalia, Air France, Delta, Lufthansa, Air Malta, and most other international airlines; Trapani Birgi Airport, served mainly by Ryanair, and Palermo Punta Raisi Airport, where you will find all international airlines, including Ryan Air.
Comiso Airport is just 60 Km East of Licata.
Directions by Car
Licata is on the South Coast of Sicily, between Agrigento and Gela, 45Km and 34 Km away respectively on S.S. 115. Coming from Catania, the best route is motorway A19 to PA, than take Caltanissetta exit and follow S.S. 626 to Gela for 58 Km; in alternative take S.S. 417 to Caltagirone, then continue to Gela and Licata (about 90 min).
Coming from Palermo or Trapani, take motorway A19 to PA, than take to Caltanissetta and follow S.S. 626 to Gela for 58 Km; in alternative motorway A29 to Castelvetrano, then take S.S. 115 East to Agrigento and Licata. Take the Caltanissetta exit and follow Agrigento/Canicattì/Ravanusa/Licata signs.
